WEST SMOKY LEGION No. 244 NEWS Remembrance Day Poster & Literacy Contest

On February 10, 2021, the Bezanson School invited Bruce Fenton, President, and Jim Robertson, Vice-President of the West Smoky Legion, to present the winners for the Remembrance Day Contest for 2020. Those who had won at the Zone and Provincial Levels for 2019 were also acknowledged. Thirty students placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th in the Poetry, Essay and Poster categories at the Primary, Junior and Intermediate level for 2020. Those who placed 1st in each category will have their work
forwarded to the Zone level with the results being known in late spring 2021. A total of $545 was presented to Bezanson students with a further $565 being given to six students who were successful at the Zone and Provincial levels in 2019.

Due to Covid-19 regulations, Bruce and Jim facilitated their presentation virtually from the office at the school which was broadcast to each room. Everyone waited excitedly in anticipation of being one of the lucky winners.

After the presentation, photos were taken in the gymnasium with all safety protocols in place.
