Bezanson receives large cash injections to their community centre!
The Bezanson Agricultural Society was pleased to accept several large donations from local corporations and organizations over the last two months.
The Bezanson Ag Society received a $25,000 donation from Pembina, $20,000 injection from International Paper, and $10,000 from the Community Foundation. Our project was also supported by the KMSC Law Golf Event netting $2116 for our project.
Executive Director Audrey Hewings says, “These additional boosts of funding that we have received since opening have really been welcomed! We are excited about what this Centre can offer our community and are happy to see it being used often!”
Hewings added “We are thrilled with these corporations joining our team and supporting the great things we are doing here in Bezanson. It’s great to see that they understand the vitality and growth that can happen in small communities like ours, especially when we have the opportunity to cultivate that through our new Centre!”
These new contributions to the Knelsen Centre are being put towards the costs of the gymnasium including the basketball back stops and other sporting equipment.
The community centre named Knelsen Centre opened in September 2018 and is being used by the community for sporting events, fundraisers, celebrations, fitness and continuing education.
The expansion on the existing hall was over 16,000 square feet, including banquet seating for 400, a new commercial kitchen and bar area, welcoming lobby and large change rooms. This expansion means the facility will be able to hold larger community functions, sporting events, and meeting spaces, satisfying the needs of Bezanson and keeping families engaged in our growing community.
