Bezanson Recreational Society

Contact

The society was initially formed in 2003, and underwent a name change in 2018 to become the Bezanson Recreational Society.

Our society has evolved to focus our efforts on projects that enhance the community, specifically those that benefit families. Our team enjoys assisting with school and community events, and are always eager to support worthwhile community projects.  We donate annually towards the GPRC Bursary for Bezanson students, and assist with donations for families in need on a case by case basis.

Our largest project to date was the construction of the outdoor skating rink, located next to the Bezanson school. This multi-year project was completed in 3 phases, and we are proud to have hosted the Grand Opening in February 2016. Through fundraising, grants, sponsorship, gifts in kind, and the proceeds from several fundraising events, we were able to construct this facility at a cost of $320,000 and are very grateful for the support from the community to make the rink construction a reality! Our volunteer group acts as the caretaker for rink, and is responsible for flooding and maintaining the ice surface.

Our society is made up of community members and we meet the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00pm. We welcome members of all ages, skills, and interests to join our group and help make a positive difference in our community. By becoming a society member, you are welcomed to attend our monthly meetings, help us decide where to spend money in the community, and plan events and activities.
