East County 4H Achievement Day Show & Sale

It’s that time of year again, Achievement Day is this coming weekend. Please join us Sunday May 15th and Monday May 16th at the Lewis Hawks Pavilion, Evergreen Park, to see for yourself how much hard work and effort goes in to our projects. Come on out and talk to our 4-H’ers and support your local clubs.

Bezanson Community Student Bursary Award deadline June 30, 2016

The deadline for the Bezanson Community Student Bursary Award at GPRC is June 30, 2016. This bursary is specific to former students of Bezanson School that are enrolled in post-secondary studies at GPRC. There are three $500 bursaries awarded each year that are funded by our community groups: Bezanson Ag Society, Bezanson Volunteer Fire Department Society and West Smoky Legion #244.


If you are a former Bezanson School student, and you meet the eligibility criteria, please apply at Student Services.

Cash & Camping Super Lottery 2016

Bezanson Ag Society and the Bezanson Volunteer Fire Department have once again partnered together with the Cash and Camping Super Lottery!! Hope you all get a chance to stop by and support this as there are so many great organizations being supported by this program.    New this year!  Summer Cash Prize with a minimum payout of $50,000 up to $125,000!  Draw date July 6, 2016.

ACCA Co-operative Youth Leadership Program

ACCA (Alberta Community & Cooperative Association) Co-operative Youth Leadership Program provides an opportunity for youth between the ages of 11 & 18 to develop their leadership and teamwork skills while building friendships and discovering hidden talents. This program takes place at the Goldeye Centre, located near Nordegg. To view the program & more info, go to acca.coop Bezanson Ag Society is sponsoring one student’s registration of $708.75 to attend this program (participant fee & bus fee not included). Contact the office @ 780-538-3544 or admin@bezansonag society.ca if you wish to apply for this sponsorship. Registration deadline with ACCA for the camp is May 20. The UFA also sponsors one student to attend the camp – contact Chris van der Giessen at 780-539-3761 for further info regarding UFA sponsorship.

Daily Herald Tribune featured local Tristan Moon as one of the strongest of the PWA recruits this year in Logan Clows May 4th article summarize the recruitment choices of the Wolves mens volleyball team for the 2016/17 year. Congratulations Tristan!

Hockey Pool

The NHL regular season ends tomorrow, but the playoff teams have been determined, thus we are madly preparing and printing our Bezanson 2016 Hockey Pool entry forms as we write this! 

Entry forms will be available at Bezanson Store by 9:00 am Sunday April 10.   I will also be available with entry forms at Lefty’s from apx 9:15 – 10:30 tomorrow (Sunday)  morning if you want to drop in and fill one out.    By Monday entry forms will be available as indicated in the attachment at other locations in Grande Prairie and Bezanson including Bezanson Hall.       (more…)

2016 Curling Season Wrap Up

The square draw consisted of 10 teams, who curled a round robin format beginning on January 4, 2016. The games took place at 7 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Each team played once a week and had a total of eight games with playoffs to follow. Anyone can enter the square draw, no matter what your skill level is. We have had teams consisting of all ladies, all men, mixed, and family teams. It is a great way to socialize with your neighbors and have some fun. (more…)
