Remembrance Day is a time to reflect on the sacrifice and selflessness of past and active military personnel. It is a time for us as Canadians to recognize this and show our gratitude and appreciation for our freedom. Many of us unknowingly take our freedom for granted, but Remembrance Day allows us to reflect on how truly lucky we are.
I want to take this time to thank the community of Bezanson for all of its support and for those who attended Bezanson School’s Remembrance Day Ceremony yesterday. Our Leadership Team took a risk this year and exposed some of their family’s most cherished stories. These stories were focused around their ancestors’ brave military service. I want to thank the students and their families for sharing these memories with the school and community.
I would like to acknowledge Sierra, Mia, Josh, Chase, and Hannah, who shared their stories and personal photos of loved ones. Leadership students volunteered to read poems and recognized the importance of Remembrance Day. Many other students and teachers were involved to prepare heartfelt songs, emotional poem readings, and ceremonial traditions such as the wreath laying. It truly takes a community to make these events happen.
Lest We Forget.
