LIGHT HORSE SHOW RULES

 

RULES: 1.Entries must be mailed or phoned in by August 24, 2017. Post Entries

will be accepted up to one hour before the start of the show @ $10.00/ class

with no day rate.

  1. Entry fee is $5.00/class or $25.00/day per horse, and you may enter in as

many classes as you wish. Each horse must have a separate entry and back

number.

A deposit of $5.00 will be charged on back numbers, which will be

refunded when number is turned in.

  1. No entry fee will be charged for classes 14 and 15, but riders may not

enter in any other classes (except gymkana, and costume).

  1. Show will go rain or shine unless show committee deems it unsafe to

continue.

  1. Age groups will be split as follows-          Senior- 18 years and up

Age is determined as of show day.         Junior- 13 to 17 years

Peewee-12 years and under

Classes may be cancelled or combined if less than three entries.

  1. Juniors may not ride stallions.
  2. Only one exhibitor is allowed per horse in the same class.
  3. Points must be earned by the same horse to be eligible for high point award.
  4. Unruly horses will be excused from the ring.
  5. Appropriate tack, equipment, and attire are necessary. Properly fitted

helmets are MANDATORY for Juniors and Peewees.

  1. Exhibitors must have their horses in the hitching ring five minutes before

their class starts..

  1. Patterns will be posted for equitation, reining, and utility horse classes one

hour before class starts.

  1. Ribbons and prize money/or equal value prize, will be awarded as follows:

1st– $10.00     2nd– $ 7.00     3rd– $ 5.00     4th– $ 3.00

  1. Points for each ribbon awarded will be as follows:

1st– 10 points     2nd– 7 points     3rd– 5 points     4th– 3 points.

 

Please Note: Horses and trailers are NOT to be located in the immediate area of the Legion Hut,

or immediately in front of the hall

 

Holding area will be in the NORTH end of ring. Enter by the north gate.

Warm-up area is to the east of ring.

 

There are to be no horses at the east side of ring where the grandstand

and spectators are located.

 

 

 

MORNING

Light Horse Classes Begin at 9am sharp

 

Showmanship-Horses to be shown in hand, handler is judged on their ability to

show horse and on the appearance of the horse, i.e.: grooming and condition.

Handler must be dressed appropriately. Open to both light and heavy horses.

Utility Horse– Horse and rider must negotiate simple obstacles such as may be encountered day to day. Class is timed.

Western Horsemanship– Rider to be judged on seat, hands, ability to control

and show horse. Results shown are not considered more important than the method

used by the rider to get results. Individual tests may be required at judge’s

discretion

English Pleasure– To be judged on manners, performance, quality, and

conformation, in that order. The horse shall give the appearance of being a pleasure

to ride.

   English Equitation– Basic Seat, judged on the rider. To be shown at walk, trot, and canter in both directions. Individual tests may be required at the judge’s discretion.

Peace Country Horse Show Circuit

Bezanson Agricultural Society Horse Show is a participating show in the Peace Country Horse Show Circuit. Points can be earned at all participating shows, and awards will be presented at the end of the year. Qualifying classes are as follows:

  1. English Pleasure
  2. English Equitation
  3. English Wild Card Class- Showmanship (Peewee, Junior or Senior)
  4. Western Pleasure
  5. Western Equitation (Horsemanship)
  6. Western Wild Card Class- Utility Horse (Peewee, Junior or Senior- ridden in Western tack and attire)

 

Awards at the end of the year are as follows:

  1. Western Circuit Champion – Senior
  2. Western Circuit Champion – Junior
  3. English Circuit Champion – Senior
  4. English Circuit Champion – Junior
  5. All Around Circuit Champion – Senior
  6. All Around Circuit Champion – Junior

 

All Around participant has to ride in both English & western qualified classes. Horse and rider combination has to be the same for all shows in the series.
